Ayres Natural Bridge

Converse County. This pretty natural bridge has been preserved in Ayres Natural Bridge State Park located about 6 miles off Interstate 25 at mile marker 151 about 11 miles west of Douglas. The bridge spans LaPrele Creek and is considered one of Wyoming first tourist attractions by pioneers on the Oregon Trail. Indian legends tell that an evil spirit lived under the bridge after a young hunter was killed by lightning whilst hunting.
The park was originally part of a ranch which was given to the county and named after the owner Alva W Ayres.
The bridge has a span of 90 ft and a height of 20 ft.
