Wilson Arch

NABSQNO 12S 642466 – 4237318

This is probably the easiest of all major arches to visit as it is alongside US Highway 191 a main north south route through the state. There is a large parking area under the arch for those who wish to climb up to it or just admire it.

It was named for the son of a Moab pioneer who was left for dead by Indians in 1880. An attempt was made to rename the arch Window Arch but pressure from local residents resulted in the original name being restored.

The arch has a span of 95 ft and a height of 50 ft. The photograph shows the back side of the arch away from the highway.
