Lookout Mountain Natural Bridge

Lookout Mountain Natural Bridge

NABSQNO 16S 697149 - 4046726

Hamilton County.  This large natural bridge was a popular tourist destination in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In 1884 a religious group called the Spiritualists bought property in the area that included the bridge and held sťances there. It was sold in 1890 but remained a popular place being featured on postcards in the early part of the twentieth century.

Afterwards it fell into disrepair and became overgrown so that finding the bridge became very difficult. It now seems that the town of Lookout Mountain has created a Natural Bridge Park and is beautifying the area so that everyone can enjoy this large and beautiful natural bridge.  It is also known as Cleland Bridge.

It has span of 85 ft and a height 14 ft.
