Central Monument Valley area. This is probably the most well known of all the arches in the valley. There are many posters and postcards showing the scene with a Navajo woman herding a flock of sheep down the sand dune in front of the arch. The name comes from the shape of the opening which resembles an ear and that sand is often blown through the arch.

The arch has a span of 35 ft and a height of 55 ft.
