Wolfe County. The Red River Gorge, an intricate canyon system of the Red River in east central Kentucky, has been designated a National Natural Landmark. Most of the George is located inside the Daniel Boone National Forest. There are more than 100 natural arches and bridges in the area.

Although Cherokee Arch is situated close to the well known and popular Princess Arch there is no marked trail to it.

The arch has a span of 41 ft and a height of 44 ft.
