Isle of Capri. Arrive on the island by ferry and from the port (Marina Grande) take the funicolare to Piazza Umberto (Euro 2) in the centre of Capri Town. Walk Via Longano, the archway between the shops Todd's and La Parisien, which climbs slowly and after about 10 minutes reaches a crossroad with a café/bar on your right and a supermarket on your left. Continue straight ahead on Via Matermania and in about 5/6 minutes pass a small shrine on the right. Here an alleyway on the right goes to an overlook to view the arch from above. Continue on Via Matermania to the left and shortly take Via Arco Naturale. Here the "road" slowly descends to a series of brick steps where two stone seats have been built in the switchbacks. At the bottom of the steps the road continues to a second series of steps by a view point for the arch.

Note

Private vehicles are not allowed on the island except for residents. No vehicles at all are allowed in Capri Town or the area to the east which is a series of narrow alleyways.

The arch has a span of 56/60ft and a height about 100ft. There are three openings on the side of the arch.
