Raufarhofn Peninsula Arch 2

NABSQNO 28W 458623 – 7371545

Raufarhofn is Iceland’s most northerly town and used to be one of the country’s largest harbours exporting fish, mainly herring. It is about 5 miles from the most northerly point of mainland Iceland, Hraunhofnartangi, which is less than 2 miles south of the Arctic Circle.

By the town’s harbour and on the small peninsula, where the lighthouse stands, are 3 arches. There is a walking trail, probably an old two track road, which heads towards the sea. The second arch is to the left about ? mile from the first arch.

It has a span of about 15 ft.
