The name of the arch translates as White Shirt due to the amount of bird dropping deposited on the rocks. Local legend has it that the rock was a large troll that turned to stone in the sunshine. The arch is just off the coast of Hunafjorour in the north of Iceland. It is a well known attraction and is featured in many guide books and on many postcards.

The North opening has a span of about 13 ft and a height of about 13 ft. The south opening has a span of about 22 ft and a height of about 6 ft.
