Camarola Arch

NABSQNO 35S 285773 - 3921357

Crete. Very pretty Camarola Arch, with the White Mountains in the background, is on Crete's north shore about 10 miles east of the town of Rethymno. It is also known as Geropotamos Beach Arch, or just Geropotamos Arch, and is located on the cliffs just to the west of the Geropotamos Bridge that the main highway crosses. Boat tours can be taken from Rethymno that can take you through the arch, weather permitting.

The arch's name is thought to derive from the time when the island was under Italian occupation.

The arch has a span of about 30 ft and a height of about 13 ft.
