Santiago Island, Galapagos. Puerto Egas is on Santiago Island's north west coast and is a popular spot for tour boats. Rangers take tourists along the coast southwards to where lava has flowed into the ocean. Here there are two lava arches, both doubles, in an area known locally as "The Grottos". Sea lions and fur seals can be seen basking by the arches as well as marine iguanas, pelicans and brightly coloured Sally Lightfoot crabs. This one is the most southerly of the two which are just a short distance apart.

The main arch has a span of 25 ft and a height of 20 ft.
