Getu Arch

Getu Arch

NABSQNO 48R 627282 - 2841555

Guizhou Province. This is one of the World's largest natural arches. It overlooks the Getu River about 47 miles south of the city of Anshun. Access is by a shuttle from the parking area to the entrance station then along a pontoon bridge through the cave that is below and to the right of the arch. A series of steps along a plank road climbs the walls of the cave and after crossing the river by way of a bridge more steps lead to a glass elevator. Many more steps then lead to the arch. There was talk, in 2014, of building some sort of hotel and restaurant under the arch. The way down is by more steps that lead to the river and to a boat crossing.

The arch has a span of 231 ft and a height of 175 ft.
