Irrekam Arch

Irrekam Arch

One of the world's largest national parks Tassili-n-Ajjer is located on a high plateau in southeastern Algeria near to the desert town of Djanet. The park covers an area about twice the size of Switzerland. Most visitors to the park go for the magnificent rock art but there are also hundreds of natural arches. To reach the park it requires a strenuous climb on to the Tassili Plateau and then long walks to the various areas.

This arch is located in the Tin Itinen area and has a span of 8 feet and a height of 26 feet. Irrekam is the Tuareg name for these types of rock spires.
